There are two major differences in the tests; the first is the duration of testing and the second is the analysis and reporting of results.
The Survey test has twenty questions per section and can be completed in about four hours. The Complete Battery test varies between 20 to 50 questions per section and it takes about 6-8 hours to administer, spread over 3-5 days, depending on the grade level.
The Survey test gives your students performance as well as the national norms information while the Complete Battery tests contain that and more. In addition to the national norms information that is given, the Complete Battery report will have a Diagnostic Profile which breaks down each subtest into the objectives that were tested; for example, adding fractions, subject-verb agreement, etc. The Diagnostic Profile will show whether or not the student mastered each of the tested objectives.
